Wind Tunnel platform.
A glass-window wind tunnel for characterizing aerosol capture under controlled airflow.

On this page01Overview
Measuring particles without disturbing the airflow.
This custom wind tunnel supports the characterization of microfluidic aerosol collectors. Glass windows provide optical access for phase Doppler anemometry, which measures particle size and velocity without inserting a probe into the airstream.
Controlled flow, repeatable measurements.
A mass-flow controller regulates the primary airflow, which is combined with aerosol from a regulated generator. An XYZ stage positions measurements across the airflow cross-section, while an upstream pressure sensor tracks pressure during testing.
The photographs document the chamber, rail-mounted platform, tubing, fittings, and holders. The CAD assembly below shows the supplied wind-tunnel revision and its peripheral components.
Six design iterations trace the development of the wind tunnel, from early duct assemblies to a glass-window platform with integrated measurement equipment.
